The workout I had planned was:
Kettlebell swings with 24kg Kb
Thats 210 reps of each. I really did not feel like doing 210 burpees, so I told myself I would put a 30 minute cap on it and just do as much as could. Inside, I knew that was a challenge against myself to get it done in under 30 mins.
I started off slow and it was a grind for the first 5 or 6 sets. I felt like giving it up but said I would try and get down to 10 reps an assess from there. When I did get to 10 reps it was already up to 22 mins on the clock. I decided I would give it a good crack to get under 30 mins and had to pick up the pace and push through the last few sets. I made it with 30 seconds to spare!
It was much more of a mental challenge than a physical one. More than once I thought about going inside and plopping down on the couch.
Not a fun workout at the time, but definitely glad I did it.
